A while ago I visited the 100% design Show in Earls Court for a look at new upcoming trends and designers for 2012. On my ‘to blog’ list for a while now has been one of my favourite designers from the show, Kirath Ghundoo who was showcasing her fab range of Mix ‘n’ Match 11 Wallpaper Collection.
“The collection introduces Iso, Persia, Geo, Mosaic, Aztec, Lavish and Stack, a unique blend of pattern and exuberant colour! Drawing inspiration from a multitude of daily encounters from fashion to architecture, colour and geometrics, the collection provides a strong visual statement for the interior space. The user has a choice of seven patterns to create an eclectic feature wall. Designed digitally, the patterns can endlessly be displayed within a mixture of combinations or as single strips.”
One of my favourite features of KG’s website is her ‘at work’ section which shows her tools and working in the studio. I really enjoy seeing the creative process of any design work so it’s nice she has let us into her world in this way, and, a reminder about how much hard work goes on behind the scenes!
This talented designers star seems to be rising as she has not only just collaborated with lab.c to create funky new iphone covers with her designs, but, has also been nominated for the Homes and Gardens BEST YOUNG DESIGNER 2012 taking place at the British Museum this March. Her work has certainly not only just caught my attention then!
Check out her website for more info on commissions, challenges, collaborations or enquiries.
